Benefits Of Carrots.









Carrots are one of the most widely used and enjoyed vegetables in world wide. It is mostly found in orange colour; but purple, white, yellow and red carrots are out there, just not as common.
Carrots are not only good to taste but also good for health. Its most important content is Beta-carotene and fiber. It is also good source of antioxidant agents. further more, carrots are rich in vitamins A, vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin B8, pantothenic acid, foliate, potassium, iron, copper and manganese.
carrots reduces cholesterol, prevent from heart attack, improves vision, reduces the signs of aging, boost the immune system, improve digestion, detoxify body, prevent cancer (notably lung cancer).


Here are some healthy drink, soup, beauty mask for our good health.



1) Juice for break fast
Ingredients:
  • 500 grams of carrots
  • Half to 1 inch piece of fresh ginger
  • Lemon juice
  • 2 to 3 oranges
  • 2 to 3 pears
  • 1 cup water (chilled)
Preparation:

  • Wash carrots under running water. use brush to clean them. rinse well.
  • Soak them.
  • Wash pears and oranges.
  • Peel oranges.
  • Now cut the fruits in cubes.
  • Wash ginger and cut them too.
  • put all ingredients in blender jar.
  • Run the machine.
  • Strain the juice.
  • Serve this juice fresh and immediately.
NOTE:
  1. Tips for washing fruits and vegetables:
  • First take vessel full of water.
  • Add a pinch of salt in it.
  • Put vegies or fruits in it for 5-10 minutes
  • Then strain the water and wash this fruits or vegies again in running water.
  • Doing this will prevent us from harmful chemical.
     2. Don't peel skin of carrots, potatoes, ginger as most of its nutritional value contain in its skin.






2) Carrot tomato soup
Ingredients:
  • 2 medium sized carrots
  • 2 medium sized tomatoes
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 3 -4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 4-5 French beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 pinch asafetida
  • 3-4 pinch of black pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Black salt or rock salt as required.
Preparation:


  • Rinse all veggies and chop them in small pieces.
  • Pressure cook the veggies with garlic cloves and water.
  • Or you can cook the in pot.
  • Once the veggies are cooked. Let them cool.
  • Then blend them till it forms a smooth paste.
  • Heat the butter in pan. add the cumin powder, asafetida and salt.
  • Stir for few seconds and add the puree to this mixture.
  • Stir and simmer the soup for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add pepper powder.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with some cream or grated cheese.


  • NOTE: Butter get easily burnt in hot pan. To avoid this add some oil to it.


    3) Beauty mask:

    1. Carrot Face Mask:
    Ingredients:

    • 2 mashed carrots (cooled)
    • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
    • 2 tablespoon honey
    • 1 teaspoon olive oil (don't use if you have oily skin)
    Preparation:

    • Mix all ingredients together to a smooth paste. without any lumps.
    • Apply over clean skin.
    • Leave for 30 minutes.
    • Rinse with Luke warm water.
    • Pat dry with towel.
         2.  Carrot Cucumber Mask:
    Ingredients:

    • 1 medium sized carrot
    • Half a cup honey 
    • mashed papaya or banana
    • Multani mitti
    Preparation:

    • Blend carrot in a blender along with honey and fruits.
    • Now add multani mitti and make a smooth and thick paste.
    • Apply this paste to all over your face.
    • Keep it for 15-20 minutes.
    • wash with Luke warm water.
    • Pat dry with a towel.
